Daily Parking and Parking Passes
Vernonia Parks require a $5 per day parking pass.
Fee stations are located at Spencer Park, Vernonia Lake and Nehalem River Park, or paid to the park host at Anderson Park.
Annual parking passes are available at City Hall for $50.
City utility customers are charged a $4 parks fee on their monthly utility bills, which includes two annual parking passes. Pick up your park passes up at City Hall.
Camping
Anderson Park
Anderson Park offers 20 full hook-up sites, and 15 tent sites on the beautiful Nehalem River.

Nehalem River Park and Campground (formerly Airport Park)
Nehalem River Park offers 17 RV/tents sites (no hook-ups) in the woods along the Nehalem River. All sites are first come first serve except by group reservation.
All sites: $20 per night
Extra vehicles: $7 per night
Vernonia Lake
Vernonia Lake offers 5 primitive tent sites nestled between Vernonia Lake and the Nehalem River. All sites are first come first serve except by group reservation.
Primitive sites: $10 per night
Overnight parking: $5 per night (walk-in and bike-in no parking fee)
Extra vehicles: $7 per night
Special Events
Vernonia parks and park's facilities are available for group events. A Special Event Permit Application is required. Complete the application and return it to City Hall.
Hiking and Biking
Vernonia is located at one end of the Banks-Vernonia State Trail and Tualatin Valley Scenic Bikeway.
The Vernonia Linear Trail connects the Banks-Vernonia State Trail, with easy trail access from several City Parks, including Anderson Park, Spencer Park and Vernonia Lake.
Fishing
Vernonia Lake is home to bass, crappie and bluegill, and is stocked in the spring with rainbow trout. The Nehalem River and Rock Creek offer trout and steelhead fishing in season.
All Oregon Department of Fish and Wildlife fishing regulations apply to Vernonia Lake, as well as the Nehalem River and Rock Creek.
Dewey Pool
During the summer months, the City of Vernonia dams Rock Creek in Hawkins Park to create our public swimming hole, as well filling up a permenant kiddie pool. Plenty of grass and bench seating for families looking to cool down. No lifeguard on duty; please supervise your children.
